It’s the Final Countdown…

It’s the Final Countdown…

After todays 1 on 1 meeting my with lecturer (via Zoom), I’ve got all the image that I need to put my book together. I was somewhat saddened that due to the current restrictions we’re all under, it’s not necessary to have the book printed for college, however, I will be printing it out at a later date for my own/client benefit.

During the progress of this Documentary series of “Hands”, has given me multiple ideas of other projects to work on after all/most the restrictions have been lifted, and will finally be able to interact with more people for a wider base of photos.

Below are some of the final images that I’ve working on.

Happy Holidays & New Year 2021…

Happy Holidays & New Year 2021…

With all that is going on in the world today, I hope that everyone has had a great day with their families/loved ones during these difficult times. Over the next few days, I will be able to relax and not think about things for a change.

Hope you all have a Festive Christmas and have a Happy New Year in 2021, lets hope next year will be the start of something great, and get some form of normality back on track ;D

Book Plannings

Book Plannings

Today’s discussion with our lecturer and classmates, was all about the documentary book print and the ways of how to style and design it, according to our own theme of course, through the software provided by Blurb. We discussed how to use their book software and the recommended settings for our book to get professionally printed, so that it’s not going to cost people an arm and a leg to get the photos published, and it was really informative and gives a sense of what’s to be expected when we do send our copies to get printed.

I’m very much excited to see the end results as there has been A LOT of planning, frustrations, and enjoyment out of this project. Whether it’s been through people cancelling, national lockdowns, etc, the final product will be something I will be proud of in the end, as I’m still producing photos at this present point, I can already see the finishing touches and as long as things go to plan, it will be a a great book in the end.

Stay tuned for more 😀

In the right direction…

In the right direction…

After today’s Documentary class meeting to touch base on our progress, I had received very positive feedback for the images that I provided. It’s given me the much needed confidence boost and understanding that I’m going in the right way forward.

I have a few more ideas in my head that I want to explore, but with the lockdowns that are currently in place, I have to either wait and focus my attention on other projects, or push forward and hope everything turns out ok in the end but get great results.

Stay tuned for more 😀

More setbacks…

More setbacks…

As with every project there are some setbacks which can be handled in a timely manner where your backups can be used in a pressured situation. With another local lockdown in Lanarkshire and Great Glasgow area, (*insert sarcastic “Thank you Covid!” tone*), I’ve had yet another couple who were suppose to pose for their hands (with their wedding rings on), to be photographed, only be be tested positive* a few days ago, and have to be in isolation for 14 days. I’ve always contact the people whom I’m suppose to work with and chat to them to see how they are, what the status of their testing is to see if you can help them in any ways, etc.

*Update: The couple has been tested again since, and are negative after the 14 day isolation and are doing well, but cancelled the photo altogether. (18th Dec’20)

I am working on a few more ideas that I can push forward, so that hopefully the couple from said above will be tested negative in a few weeks time and I can push forward for their photo. They had said that if it looks good, then they’ll want a printed copy for their upcoming anniversary (big 50yr anniversary too), as I’ve showed them photo references of what I’m looking for.

Below are the ref photos that I’ve shown the couple. These photos don’t belong to me obviously ;D

This Wednesday (25th November), I will be showcasing the images that I have taken so far to my Documentary class and get their feedback and critiques to hopefully keep going as I am, or would have to change a few things to get better.

Stay Tuned for more…and keep safe 😀
